Alibaba has announced that it will open its first unmanned retail store in Hangzhou at the end of the year.

An unmanned store is a retail concept in which there are no service personnel and no cashiers in the store. With the Tmall Future Store, Alibaba has entered a phase it calls ‘unmanned retail 2.0’, significantly expanding on the capabilities Alicool and the Zhida Bookstore demonstrate.
